In some ways, there’s truth to the stereotype that fashion takes itself too seriously, but there are certain hints that prove there’s definitely a sense of humor lurking in the depths of even the most high-end designer’s repertoire. Often it’s showcased via silhouette, print and texture, or—as we’ve seen lately—over-the-top shoes, bags, and other accessories that unapologetically embrace kitsch of the highest order.

During London Fashion Week‘s Fall 2016 shows, it seems nearly every runway got the memo:  Fashion should be fun. Among Anya Hindmarch‘s metallic sticker boots (!!), Charlotte Olympia‘s outer-space themed bags, Sibling‘s use of bold tassels, and Mary Katranzou‘s polka-dot platform Mary Janes, it’s obvious designers are embracing what the city itself is known for, stylewise: idiosyncrasy, a tongue-in-cheek sensibility, a coolness that comes from a desire to stand out from the pack.

Here, we’ve highlighted more than 75 shoes, bags, and accessories that prove London Fashion Week wins in the sense of humor department.
